## Welcome to TLSBooks.com!

This page of geometry worksheets focuses on shape recognition for the preschool and kindergarten child. Many of these preschool shape worksheets incorporate color recognition, fine motor skills, numbers, and concepts such as large and small.

Talk with your child about the shapes of everyday objects and encourage them to find shapes in nature, food, and architecture for instance. Discuss how many sides a shape has. A square has four equal sides, a rectangle has four unequal sides, etc.

Provide children with a variety of paper shapes and glue so they can practice combining shapes to make a picture. Sort household items into "shape categories," i.e. an envelope may be a rectangle, a clock is round, a book is a rectangle, etc. Have a shape day! For instance, how many things can you spot that are shaped like a circle? Keep count and compare to other shape day counts.

Additional pre-math worksheets and activities can be found in our collection of preschool concepts and preschool math worksheets.
